Welcome to Whittington Photography.

In my careers as a Naval Intelligence Officer, marketing executive, and trekking and mountain guide, I have had the opportunity to travel the world and photograph amazing things. I continue to travel with more emphasis on the photography. This website is dedicated to sharing those images with you.

I am originally from Portland, Oregon and returned following active duty in the US Navy.  I am retired from the Navy and from a local electronics company, Tektronix.  I started a international adventure company, Oregon Peak Adventures in 1998 and led treks and climbs throughout the world and provided outdoor skills instruction until I sold the company in 2010.  I continued leading international trips though  Sahale Travel and Trekking until 2015.

Other activities included staff instructor for the American Red Cross, College professor for Portland State University and the University of Phoenix, Avon sales, and forest fire fighter.

I am married to Phyllis, and have three children and four grandchildren.

These days, I am actively involved in photography and lead climbs, hikes, and outings for the Mazamas, our Portland based mountaineering club.  Additionally, I am an Open Water SCUBA diver, and member of the American Mountain Mountain Guides Association, American Alpine Club, Oregon Society of Artists, and Portland Photographers’ Forum.
